Honor, Product Design Manager

Honor’s mission is to help families find consistent and quality care. I lead the caregiver experience, partner closely with Product and Engineering leads on product strategy and team process, and manage one direct report.

I focus on streamlining and improving the caregiver’s workflows so that they can provide the best care. This has led to increased quality of care and decreasing operational expenses. On the team side, I focus on improving our project and design process which has led to leveling up our design output.

 

Blue Owl, Lead Experience Designer

Aug ‘17 - May ‘20, San Francisco, CA
Blue Owl is an insurance startup that rewards its customers for good driving. I was responsible for the HiRoad app. My main initiatives were integrating the Renters product into the app and improving and rewarding our customers for good driving. My impact has increased customer satisfaction and retention. While I did not stay long enough to see if we reduced accidents, I did increase their awareness of their driving.

I partnered closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders from problem definition to execution collaborated with Product and other stakeholders on product strategy and managed one direct report.

 

Capital One Labs, Lead Product Designer

Oct ‘14 - Aug ‘17, San Francisco, CA
Labs was created to identify new opportunities for the business. My biggest achievement was designing and piloting Capital One's Money Coaching service. The pilot was a success in increasing customer satisfaction and their awareness of their behaviors around money. The service eventually scaled into multiple locations.

I work with Inneract Project on their mission of making design education and opportunities accessible to underserved youth. I understand the needs of students to strategize and design education programs and workshops for middle and high school students.

 

Momentum Design Lab, Senior UX/UI Designer

I led projects for Fortune 500 companies and startups to produce web, mobile, and touchscreen products. I collaborated with developers, designers, and client during creation of journey maps, storyboards, IA, flows, wireframes, and visual design.

PROCESS AND SKILLS
Discover - Understand the problem through user, stakeholder, and market research. This includes surveys, in-depth and contextual interviews, market and trend analysis, longitudinal studies, and user co-creations.

Define - Identify the problem and requirements through research synthesis and goal prioritization. Activities include creating frameworks through insights (i.e. journey maps, ecosystem maps, personas) and stakeholder alignment workshops.

Develop - The conceptual phase starts with ideation and then narrowing down solutions through an iterative process of prototyping and testing. The detailed design phase includes creating user flows, IA, content strategy, wireframing, visual design and usability testing.

Deliver - Finalize production assets and collaborate with engineer through implementation.
